Can epidermis be cultured at request, and shipped to the patient for transplant?

If you mean can skin be taken off, cultured in a dish and transplanted to another patient.  No.  You need to have special matrices as well as ideal conditions before it can even be attempted.  That is the reason that human ears are grown on mice and skin transplants come from other parts of the body like the stomach or leg.

Human skin equivalent, which contains both dermis and epidermis, has been successfully cultured in dish and is available (FDA approved) for clinical use. Visit organogenesis.com for more info.
