We're trying to differentiate rat BMMC's from whole bone marrow with little success and would appreciate any advice from those who may have some experience or suggestions.

we started using conditons used successfully to generate MOUSE BMMC's, but the rat cells seem to grow quite differently. I started with RPMI and seem to be having a bit more success with IMDM as my basal media, but my cells seem to crash by about 3-4 weeks in culture.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. there is very little in the literature using rat bone marrow mast cells!
