I am now in the process to checking into moving hybridoma lines into FBS free media. Does anyone have any recommendations on some good formulations and the companies you can get them from. Thanks

I really don't want to take away from any of the serum free media formulations made by any of the media suppliers....all of them do an excellent job for some cells lines and all of them have failures....but I have had the best luck with "slam dunk" transfers in a media called PFHM II from Gibco/Invitrogen. If I don't have time to screen the cell line in several formulations I tend to pick this one because it tends to grow most cells well and have high levels of antibody production.

The best option is to screen in several different media types if you have the time.
