I need to attempt establishing a primary culture from the spleen of an animal that has been stored at -80 degrees. The speciman was collected shortly after death, but it was not preserved with the anticipation that it would be used for culture. I know that getting viable cells is probably a long shot, but does anyone have any protocol suggestions for the best way to attempt this?
