Can anybody tell me the components and their corresponding amounts/ratios in a freezing medium for neural progenitor cells?

Basically, the constituents of a standard freezing medium does not vary much except for the type of media used for a particular cell line to be frozen.

I use EMEM with earl salts and non essential amino acids as base medium and 20%FCS and 10% DMSO.

Apart from these, I also add some membrane stabilizers and free radical inhibitors to prevent any damage to my cells while thawing.

You can use Catalase Trehalose,Taurine and L-aSCORBIC Acid along with the freezing mixture. Works like charm for my neuroblastoma cell line.Works for all primary cell cultures too!!

Note: Always add DMSO at the end and see that it is chilled at 4 degrees C.
