| When determining the doubling time of my culture, does it matter how much cells I start with? The doubling time is theoretically 15 hours, but I've had results ranging from 13 to 20 hours. Can any one help me? | | |

 | Doubling time is the average time it takes for the cells to double. The amount does not matter normally. However, as cells grow, they sometimes
excrete a growth factor that helps improve growth. This might increase doubling time but I think that it just helps keep the cells alive longer which gives the appearance of faster growth (since you are not counting as many dead cells). |
