I am reintroducing a frozen stock of HEK293 cells (in DMSO) to media and after 1 day there is no visible cell growth and the media is clouded with white whisps. This has happened with three separate frozen cell stocks.

What is happening and what can I do to fix this problem? Did I do something wrong when I froze them down initially?
