Removal of macrophages in murine marrow culturepurush_792009-03-18Click here to register.
I am trying to culture murine stromal cells from bone marrow mononuclear cells.

I have overpowering numbers of macrophages which are painstakingly difficult to remove and takes a long time to get eliminated from culture by passaging.

I actually read an article which speaks of selectively removing/killing macrophages by adding a compound to the culture media. Unfortunately I don't have the reference with me right now.

Can anybody help me in this matter? or know what compound it is or any other way of eliminating them? FACS and MACS are out of my list.

Thanks in advance,
Purush
