The cells in our lab aren't adhering to the plates, but they are proliferating. I'm using caco-2 cells, but other researchers in the lab are using various other cell types, including HET-1. Can anybody help with this problem?

Just look at the quality of the cell culture dishes. Make sure that the dishes are collagen coated. There are certain cell ines which can be grown both as suspension and monolayer cultures. So look at the type of cell ine also. But I really wonder how Caco-2 is proliferating in suspension.

Yeah, they weren't, It was wishful thinking on my part. Caco-2 and HT29 are just floating about doing nothing. Most of the other cultures have stuck down and are now behaving normally. The dishes are the same as we have been using for other cell lines which are behaving normally.
Could it be something to do with the liquid nitrogen storage they were in?

These are the first cell lines that I've tried to bring back, but the 4th or 5th vial. Other people in the lab are having problems getting their cells to adhere after taking them out of the nitrogen, but a few changes of medium and they settle down and adhere, then start growing a few days later.
